What do you like most about your role at Vista?
Every day is a new challenge to face, and an opportunity to do something new and innovative. We are always continuously improving.
What does your day-to-day look like?
Check-in’s with my team and stakeholders, with a little bit of coding and technical advice here and there. I spend a lot of time getting to know all our systems because if you know how the systems work, you can change them for the better by injecting intelligence, automation, and machine learning.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve overcome in your role/team/ area?
We’ve had the challenge of building many things from the ground up. One area that cannot be overemphasized is automation — early on we focused on automating as much as possible in a flexible way so that we could do a lot with a little. We also worked on building great relationships with our technology partners and software engineers. With that foundation, the next challenge to overcome is helping to run Vista in a more a data-driven way.

In so many big and little ways, Vista helps small businesses act like big businesses — from affordable pricing, to offering relevant recommendations and design help, Vista makes things possible for small businesses that otherwise would take away the focus from their own business.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I love researching cutting edge ways people are using data. The field is exploding with interesting new thinking, methods, and software that you can spend lots of time learning. I fit my learning in between family time and watching old movies.
Freestyle – anything else you´d want to add or call out?
Vista is good about recognizing the toll of the last year and a half has had on people and ensure that we have time to focus on ourselves. It’s hard not seeing your teammates face to face, but Vista has done many things to help manage it and make it feel more normal.
